The cloud’s value is not only about not buying servers. It is about growing to the need, moving maintenance load to the right layer, and making system behaviour visible.
Where does cost disappear?
- Environments left open but unused.
- Oversized database or compute choices.
- Log and object retention nobody thought through.
- High data transfer between layers.
- Auto-scaling every load without limits.
Good architecture questions
Which data must stay continuously reachable? Which job can run in a queue? If which component breaks does the product stop entirely? The answers affect both cost and resilience.
