MOBILE EXPERIENCE

Mobile performance is more than network speed

10 September 20267 min readWYN Studio

Good mobile experience is not a first launch measured on fast Wi-Fi. Old devices, fluctuating networks, backgrounded apps and low batteries all count as real conditions.

Lighten the first screen

Load what the user needs at first; bring heavy images, analytics or secondary data later. Deciding image sizes and places in advance also reduces layout shift.

What does offline mean?

Not every app must be fully offline. But letting users see their last data without a connection, understand that their action is queued, and managing conflicts when connectivity returns are product decisions.

Do not optimise without measuring

  • Startup time and first usable screen.
  • Response after touch.
  • Failed network requests.
  • App crashes and restarts.
  • Real device profiles.
