Which risks does the OWASP LLM Top 10 2026 remind us of?

The OWASP GenAI Security Project’s 2026 work emphasises that artificial intelligence has moved beyond a chat box that only produces answers, into agents that call tools and perform actions.

The risk is bigger than the model

Risks like prompt injection, sensitive information disclosure, insecure output handling, excessive agency, model supply chain and unbounded consumption concern the whole application flow. The same model carries different risks in different products.

Before going to production

  • Which data can the model see?
  • Which code or workflow does the output enter?
  • Which tools can the agent call?
  • At which step is human approval?
  • How are faulty or malicious uses stopped?

WYN’s reading

We do not start an AI project with only the question “which model should we pick?” Without data boundaries, permissions, measurement and a rollback plan, even the best model does not become a reliable product.
