Structured data: the honest way to explain a page to Google

05 October 20266 min readWYN Studio

Structured data does not guarantee an appearance or ranking in search results. Its benefit is making the meaning of the page clearer through machine-readable hints.

Visible content first

A page’s JSON-LD should describe content the visitor actually sees. Marking up a service that is not on the page, a fake rating or an author that does not exist may look tempting short-term, but it violates search engine quality rules.

Which types make sense for WYN?

  • Organization: explaining who WYN is and its relationship to the site.
  • Article: explaining a blog post’s title, author and update date.
  • Service: clarifying the scope of a genuinely offered service.
  • BreadcrumbList: making it easier for users to understand page hierarchy.

More important than adding schema

Without correct titles, meaningful internal links, accessible content, fast pages and original information, schema alone is not a solution. Structured data is the clarity layer added on top of good content.
